After the death of her father, music lover and filmmaker Samantha Hale sets out on a road trip to try to explain the power that music has over people, following some of her favorite artists from concert to concert around the country. Through interviews with legions of devoted fans and the incredible artists who inspire them, she tries to uncover the mystery behind the music while struggling with her loss.
